// Rob Stereo Mc's - Connected Sound System
Me and Nick started Stereo Mc’s in 1987 in the living room / studio of our flat in Battersea , South London. 1987 also saw the birth of our first label (Gee St) from which we got licensed to Island records and released 5LP’s , the third of which was “Connected” which became a transatlantic hit.
From there we started two more labels, Natural Response and later Graffiti , recorded albums for Pias ,K7 (DJ KICKS) and Gaffiti and continued (to this day) to tour as a live band and dj internationally.
Our music was born from the melting pot of the mid 1980’s underground that saw the explosion of dj culture.
More recently we have gone back to our roots of electronic music with our label “connected” with releases from David Mayer, Floyd Lavine , Darksidevinyl , Aaaron , Sparrow and Barbosa, Angelos and many others.
Musically we have collaborated with Adam Port , Yotam Avni , Upercent and Re.You amongst others and remixed on labels such as Still Vor Talent, Cacao , Frau Blau , Selador ,Stripped Down and Kompakt .
The nature of what we do is really about the energy we make.
